CRISTIE LILES - HEAD COACH Coach Liles is in her 16th year of teaching and coaching. Her background began in Amarillo, Texas where she played volleyball for Amarillo High School. In 1988, the Amarillo Sandies won the 5A State Championship. Coach Liles attended Sam Houston State University on a full volleyball scholarship. She also served as a graduate assistant for Sam Houston State Volleyball. After graduating college, Coach Liles returned to Amarillo High where she coached volleyball and track for four years. From 1999-2002, Coach Liles was the Head Volleyball Coach at Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas. In 2002, Coach Liles was hired as the Head Volleyball Coach at Marcus High School. During her tenure at Marcus, she has led her team into the play-offs six out of eight years, including 4 District Championships; 3 Area Round Finalists; 2 Regional Quarterfinalists; and, Region I finalists in last year’s record breaking season. Coach Liles has been married twelve years to her wonderful husband, Parker. He coaches Varsity Receivers at Hebron High School, and teaches Algebra I. They have a 9-year old son, Jake, who attends Heritage Elementary. Quote: “You must learn how to hold a team together. MANDI ROBERTS - VARSITY ASSISTANT / JV RED COACH Coach Roberts is in her third year of coaching at Marcus. Prior to coming to Marcus she coached at Coppell Middle School East, where she coached volleyball, basketball, and track. She has coached club volleyball for Texas Juniors DFW and Dallas Synergy. Roberts is a 2006 Graduate of Sam Houston University, where she received a degree in Health Education and minored in Kinesiology. In August she received her Masters of Education in Administration from Lamar University. She is married to Jonathon, and they are expecting their first child in February 2011. At Marcus she teaches Special Education and has coached JV Softball and JV Soccer. AMY MILLER - JV SILVER COACH Coach Miller returns to the Marcus Volleyball program for her 6th season as the Junior Varsity Silver team coach. Prior to her tenure at Marcus High School, Coach Miller coached basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track at Briarhill Middle School. She has also coached varsity soccer, junior varsity softball, and junior varsity field hockey at The Hockaday School. She has been very active in the Lewisville community, creating youth organizations such as LGSA and local volleyball and soccer clubs; and, she is also past director of coach and player development for GLASA. Coach Miller is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University where she received a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and is certified to teach Special Education as well as Physical Education. She is married to her husband, Tom, and has four daughters - Taren, Kali, Britny, and Jenna. All four of her children have graced the halls of Marcus High School. BRENDA JACOBS - FRESHMAN RED COACH Coach Jacobs is in her 6th year at Marcus High School and begins her 30th (!) year in education and coaching. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education at Eastern Illinois University and her Master’s degree in Education at Olivet Nazarene University. Before moving to Texas in 2002, she coached volleyball for 8 years in Illinois. She has coached basketball (22 years), track, cross country, softball, tennis, and soccer. She also taught physical education, aerobics, personal training, psychology, and sociology. Currently, Coach Jacobs teaches Teen Leadership, which she says is the best class at Marcus! She has been married to her husband, Dan, for 24 years and they have two children. Marissa, 23, graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Illinois after playing soccer and winning two National Championships. Jared, 20, is a college soccer/basketball player at Colorado Christian University. Both children graduated from Marcus High School. Her hobbies are fitness activities, reading, and watching her kids play sports. She is a member of St. Philip’s Church and enjoys sharing her faith. JONATHAN LEE - FRESHMAN SILVER COACH Coach Lee is in his 4th year of teaching and coaching. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2003 where he received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. Coach Lee was an IT Consultant for four years prior to pursuing his desire to teach and coach. He currently teaches Web Mastering and Sports & Entertainment Marketing at Marcus. He coached JV Silver volleyball last year and is the Freshman Silver team coach this year. He is also the head freshman basketball coach. Coach Lee has been married for five years to his lovely wife, Jacqie, and they were blessed with Katelyn, their beautiful baby girl in April. Coach Lee was a graduate of Marcus High School in 1998 and was a member of the 1997 State Champion football team. Quote: “Good, better, best. Never let it rest.
